摘 要

学习效率的高低是影响高校英语专业大学生语言水平的重要组成部分，而学生的个体因素差异又会对学生的语言水平造成不同的影响。本研究以155名英语专业大学生为研究对象，通过因子分析确定个体因素类别；通过回归分析对比分析英语专业大学生个体因素差异对其语言学习效率影响的大小。研究结果表明：（1）学生的语言动机和语言学能对英语学习效率有显著影响；（2）语言环境对英语专业大学生的影响最小；（3）总体而言，还有很多对学习效率造成影响的因素。对于英语教师而言，合理和科学地对待学生的不同个体差异，可以更有效地提高学生的学习效率。

1.Introduction

Nowadays,English is a major international common language in the world.The number of people speaking English is larger than the number of any language.The range of use of English is very wide and is a vital tool for us to communicate with foreigners.The importance of learning English is self-evident. Also,there are many factors that affect English learning, such as learning attitude, learning methods, learning strategies, etc.But in addition to this, the influence of person's individual difference factors of English learning is very significant as well, because of the different personalities, genders, ages, cognitive features,they will form the individual differences, which affect the progress of learning, leading to different learning outcomes.At present, there are many researches on the influence of individual differences on English learning at home and abroad which include the non-intelligence and mental factors, internal causes and external causes, power factors, etc., and the previous show mainly concern for non-English major students, pre-school and high school students and study abroad,there are fewerstudies on English major students.This study discusses the different types of individual differences of learning English and their respective influence of the size through the combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods.

This paper is divided into six parts.The first is Introduction,the second is Literature review,the third is Methodology,the fourth is Results,the fifth is Discussion and the last is Conclusion.

1. Literature review

This section is divided into two parts.Due to a mix of domestic and foreign references and history,before year 2000,the scientists focused on the directly related aspects of language learners' mental or psychological studies.And after 2000,the scientists focused the influence of students' acquisition process on second language learning.So we decide to limit this part to year 2000.
