摘 要
专门用途英语(ESP)是与英语课程相关的特定科目或职业的一个英语分支,如商务英语,工程英语等。它有助于满足学习者的特定需求。
本研究以南京林业大学70名机械工程专业的大四学生和1名英语教师为研究对象,基于需求理论,通过问卷调查和访谈收集、组织、分析数据。其目的是了解南京林业大学机电制造英语课程教学是如何开展的,同传统大学英语教学相比,ESP课程可能带来了哪些变化,从而探究当下ESP课程的优势和不足,为完善大学ESP课程教学提出试探性的建议。
研究结果表明:(1)教师在ESP课堂上发挥着重要作用,同时教师与学生之间也存在着许多互动。(2)南京林业大学ESP课程优势比劣势多。(3)ESP课程教学仍有很大提升空间。
