摘 要
文学,是对社会文化的折射与升华。优秀的文学作品,除了提供大量的文化背景知识和真实的文化语境,还深深影响读者的情感,是生动,具体,深入,全面的阅读材料。同时,在信息全球化的今天,大学生更应该去探求和理解语言背后相关的社会和文化含义,以促进跨文化能力的培养。本研究具体探讨了外国文学作品阅读对大学生跨文化能力的影响情况。
本研究以批判性阅读理论和跨文化能力相关理论为基础,对中国六所大学,共123名本科生进行了关于外国文学作品阅读与跨文化能力情况的问卷调查,并随机对10名学生进行了访谈。最后结合跨文化能力测评量表,具体分析了外国文学作品阅读对大学生跨文化能力(跨文化知识、技能、意识、态度)的影响。本文共分为五个章节。第一章引导语,第二章文献综述,第三章研究方法,第四章研究结果的展示和讨论,以及最后一章结论。通过数据对比与分析,结果表明,82.6%的被调查学生认为阅读外国文学作品对自己跨文化能力有积极影响。其中,对跨文化知识和技能的影响最大,对跨文化意识的影响一般,对跨文化态度的影响最小。笔者也在数据分析的基础上提出原因与建议,为外语教学提供了一定的理论基础,也为开展提高跨文化能力的实践活动提供了实际参考。

Abstract
Literature is the reflection and condensation of social culture. In addition to providing a large amount of cultural background knowledge and authentic cultural context, excellent literary works also deeply affect reader's emotion, which are vivid, specific, thorough and comprehensive reading materials. At the same time, in the 21st century, the age of economic and information globalization, college students should explore and understand the social and cultural meanings behind language, so as to promote their cultivation of intercultural competence. This study discusses the impact of foreign literary work reading on college students’ intercultural competence.
This study is based on the theories of critical reading and intercultural competence. 123 undergraduate students who come from six universities in China conduct the questionnaire survey about foreign literary work reading and intercultural competence. And 10 students are interviewed at random. Lastly, the impact of foreign literary work reading on college students’ intercultural communicative competence (intercultural knowledge, skill, awareness and attitude) is discussed with the combination of the intercultural communication competency assessment scale. This paper is divided into five chapters. In addition to the first introduction chapter, chapter two is the literature review of intercultural communicative competence and the study on the relation of foreign literary work reading and intercultural communicative competence. Chapter three is the research methodology. Chapter four is the presentation and discussion of the result of this study, and the conclusion is the last chapter. Through data comparison and analysis, the results show that 82.6% of the surveyed students believe that reading foreign literature has positive impact on their intercultural communicative competence. Among them, reading foreign literature has the most significant effect on intercultural knowledge and skill, and has little effect on intercultural awareness and attitude. The author also proposes reasons and suggestions on the basis of data analysis, which provides theoretical basis for foreign language teaching and practical reference for activities to improve intercultural communicative competence.
