摘 要

查尔斯.狄更斯是英国19世纪最伟大的现实主义作家之一。《大卫.科波菲尔》是他极富自传性质的批判现实主义文学作品。该小说讲述了主人公大卫从幼年至中年的生活历程。值得一提的是,小说处处彰显着人道主义精神。本文将以作品为研究对象,通过对小说中所折射出的人道主义精神的理解,结合小说中正反人物形象对比及其结局的对比,加之作者的自身经历,宗教信仰对其人道主义精神的影响,突出小说所想表达的人道主义精神。

On the Humanitarian Ideology in the Novel David Copperfield

  1. Introduction

Charles Dickens was a 19th-century British critical realist novelist. Dickens paid special attention to depicting the life experiences of the "little people" who lived in the bottom of British society. It profoundly reflected the complex social reality of England at that time and made outstanding contributions to the development of British critical realism literature. His works are still prevalent so far and have had a profound impact on the development of British literature.

David Copperfield is Dickens's novel, known as his "favorite child in the heart." The book uses first-person narrative, incorporating many of the author's own life experiences. The novel tells the story of protagonist David's life journey from infancy to middle age. Taking David's birth as a source, the novel introduces the sincerity and darkness of friends, the naivety and impulse of love, the sweetness and trivialness of marriage, the contradiction and harmony of family members.Through the mixed colors and opportunities, as well as humorous language,the book showing a vast picture of Britain in the mid-19th century, reflecting Dickens's ideal ——world full of good and justice.
