摘 要

奥斯卡·王尔德是一位爱尔兰戏剧作家、小说家、散文家和诗人，也是唯美主义运动的发言人。在19世纪90年代，他是最受欢迎的伦敦戏剧作家之一。他的代表作有《认真的重要性》、《道林·格雷的画像》、《莎乐美》等。

《星孩》和《西班牙公主的生日》是王尔德的童话集《石榴之屋》中的两篇童话。《星孩》讲述了一个漂亮的男孩因对其丑陋的母亲残酷无情而失去了美貌。然后他觉醒并开始四处寻母。在经历过各种苦难后，他找到了母亲、美貌和善良。《西班牙公主的生日》讲述了一位丑陋的小矮人真诚地为小公主跳舞，但他后来发现小公主是因他的丑陋而笑，而不是他的舞蹈。他最后心碎而死。

本文比较《星孩》与《西班牙公主的生日》中人物、意象和自然环境三个方面的相似之处。本文包含五个章节。第一章是作家作品介绍和文献综述。第二章是人物之美的分析，包括主角之美和配角之美。第三章是意象之美的分析，包括同类事物意象之美和同意义意象之美。第四章是自然环境之美的分析。第五章是结论。通过比较分析，我们可以更好地理解王尔德童话的写作特点、他对一些唯美主义概念的解释和他对维多利亚时期社会的深思。

Abstract

Oscar Wilde is an Irish playwright, novelist, essayist and poet. He is the spokesman of the Aesthetic Movement. He is one of the then London’s most popular playwrights in the 1890s. His masterpieces are The Importance of Being Earnest, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Salomé and so on.

The Star-Child and The Birthday of the Infanta are fairy stories collected in his A House of Pomegranates. The Star-Child tells a story that a pretty boy loses his beautiful appearance because of his ruthlessness and mercilessness towards his ugly mother. Then he finds himself wrong and starts to find his mother all over the world. After suffering all kinds of hardships, the boy finds his mother, his pretty appearance and his kindness. The Birthday of the Infanta tells a story that an ugly Little Dwarf dances for the Infanta sincerely, but later he finds that the Infanta laughs for his ugliness instead of his dance. He is so heartbroken that he dies in the end.

This paper compares The Star-Child with The Birthday of the Infanta in terms of characters, images and natural environment. The paper consists of five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction to the writer, his works and literature review. The second chapter is the analysis of the beauty in characters, and it is divided into two parts: the beauty in main characters and the beauty in minor characters. The third chapter is the analysis of the beauty in images, including the beauty of object-identical images and the beauty of sense-identical images. The fourth chapter is the analysis of the beauty in natural environment. The last chapter is the conclusion. Through the three comparative analyses, we can have a better understanding of Wilde’s writing features in fairy stories, his explanations of some aesthetic concepts and his profound meditations of the society in the Victorian era.
